With beautiful weather and sunny skies year-round, tennis is one of the most popular activities for Albuquerque residents. All of The Q properties put you close to tennis courts, including The Tennis Club of Albuquerque – which provides tennis fun for players of all ages.
Younger players can learn the fundamentals of the game through private and group instruction. As their skills improve, they can compete in weekly match play or in USTA-sponsored tournaments.
Adult players can also receive instruction from USTA-certified professionals. Family fun days and social mix-ups provide opportunities to play for fun. More-competitive players can participate in the Grand Prix Tournament or other USTA tournaments. TCA also offers summer camps that provide full and half-day programs for players of all skill levels.
TCA’s tennis courts feature SmartCourt technology, developed by PlaySight, Inc. SmartCourt technology uses similar camera triangulation employed by the HawkEye System that’s used by the pros.
With SmartCourt technology, players receive real-time feedback and analysis of their strokes and other aspects of their game. SmartCourt-enhanced sessions are available for individuals, doubles, and teams at very reasonable rates for both members and nonmembers.
But TCA is not just for tennis players. There is also a 1,600-square-foot first-class fitness facility, featuring cardio and strength training equipment that includes treadmills, elliptical machines, stationary bikes, resistance machines, and free weights.
TCA also features an aquatics facility, with swimming instruction available for kids and adults alike. All ability levels, from beginners to competitive swimmers, are welcome.
The club’s swim team allows younger club members between the ages of 5 and 18 to participate in recreational yet competitive events as one of 16 teams participating in the Sundance Aquatic League.
